The production: the Organic farm

The agriculture “business” of the Villani family began many years ago.

By the 1800s, both sides of the original family took care of, with commitment and passion, cultivating the land. The idea of many imagined in the beginning of the 1960s, that life in the city, leaving the countryside behind to start a new adventure in the city would be best. However, quickly the love for the countryside in the beautiful hills of Tuscany prevailed and many returned to their origins, first as sharecroppers, and then purchasing their own lands from 1969 onwards.

Initially, the production was focused exclusively on fruit; from the planting of the first peach grove in 1971. Later, after of Poderi Nesti&Cupoli was acquired, the cultivation spread to olive groves, on 12 hectares of land with around 3000 trees. The last addition was the planting of 3 hectares of grapevines in 2003 and the construction of a cellar to make wine from the grapes, as well as a laboratory for the production of jams and preserves.

Since Enrico joined Azienda Agricola Villani (the Villani Farm), cultivation has radically been changed, converting the traditional ways of farming to completely organic farming.
